HAPPY PRESIDENTS' DAY!

DISCIPLES PRESIDENTS of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA

President James Garfield (1881) was a strong supporter of civil rights for African Americans.

President Lyndon Johnson (1963-1969) aggressively promoted and signed into law the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Although he had opposed the Voting Rights Act of 1965 at the time of its passage, President Ronald Reagan (1981-1989) in 1982 signed legislation reauthorizing this Act for another 25 years.

Government is not reason; it is not eloquence; it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. Happy Presidents Day!
