UPCOMING: National Day of Action to Raise the Minimum Wage

In just a few years the demand to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour has not only gained traction and public support but has become law in many places around the country.

Due to worker and public pressure in New York, Gov Cuomo has come out in favor of a $15 minimum wage and business groups are uniting to fight it.

Following suit 18 states have created wage boards to convince elected officials to raise the wage.

New York City, Los Angeles and many other cities have raised the wage to $15 an hour adding additional support.

Building on national protests last April, November 10th has been chosen as a national day of action to build public pursue to support raising the wage.

We strongly urge you to participate. You can pledge to join the protests here.

In addition, groups organizing the National Day of Action have put together social media packets to help spread the word. Here's one that demonstrates that a working person making the minimum wage can't afford to pay the rent in your state.
