White House Affirms the Value of Religious Pluralism

The administration is taking strides toward combatting religious discrimination. Deputy Assistant Attorney General Vanita Gupta announced a new administration-wide initiative for religious freedom.

Gupta said, “In the coming months, the Civil Rights Division will partner with other federal agencies—including the Departments of Education, Homeland Security and Labor; the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission; and within the Justice Department—the FBI and Community Relations Service—to host a series of community roundtables and discussions.”

The initiative includes facilitating discussions with individuals from across the country that will provide guidance and help spread understanding about religious discrimination.

Here is a report on the event on religious pluralism. Here is the full text of remarks Deputy Assistant Attorney General Vanita Gupta gave at that event.
