Photo Story: Justice Groups Share Exhibit Space

Rev. Dr. Mark Johnston, Executive Director of the Open & Affirming Ministries Program, along with members of Alliance Q and the AllianceQ Council, answer questions about the work of the Alliance and how we help congregations live out being a church of grace and welcome to all.

Rev. Dan Adolphson, AllianceQ Moderator, said, "In coming together as the social justice organizations of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we modeled to the assembly what intersectionality means. The issues that Disciples Peace Fellowship, Disciples LGBTQ+ Alliance, Reconciliation Ministries, Disciples Palestine/Israel Network, the Disciples Center for Public Witness/Disciples Justice Action Network, and the Religious Outreach Department at the Center for Responsible Lending address affect all of us - calling us not to work in silos but together. As we look towards the future and live out not only the missions of our organizations, but the call to prophetic justice modeled by our various assembly speakers and our new General Minister and President. we will continue to build upon the successes of our "social justice hub" at General Assembly as we work together to help the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) live out its prophetic voice and call."
